Thanks to the guys who responded

a/c mechanic advised me the best and cheapest way to get around smelly a/c without having to take dash out is
to open vent to fresh air
put fan on high and heater on full
spray glen 20 disinfectant spray through intakes wait for about 5 minutes repeat spray and adjust to go to different points ie windscreen floor etc with a five minute wait between each spray

it solved my problem and he says lasts for 6 months and the car smells nice again

merry Xmas to all
Graham Fyffe
