It is a vacuum valve that detects the altitude during flight operationsJ

Seriously, it’s a vacuum valve that senses whether the truck is above 3930 ft or below 2570 ft if above it switches and sends vacuum to a secondary diaphragm on the distributor to advance the timing 6 degrees. I’m not real sure why I removed it except that Jim C. said that it was evil so I had an exorcism.

Joke, at least in my deteriorated mental state, removing high altitude
system and you live at sea level.
